Il gatto

As you may know from previous posts, we have our regular visitor, Scooby Do, the beagle who comes around for leftovers every once in a while. On Friday night, it wasn’t only he who came visiting, but also a cat. The strange thing was that Scooby Do, who regularly chases cats with glee, seemed to accept the cat and the both happily ate some scraps that we gave them. O said our place is turning into Noah’s Ark.

Saturday night we had a dinner party with friends and, of course, Scooby Do came knocking. Everyone made a fuss over him and we gave him some scraps and he went along his merry way.

When we finished our meal, we had some meat left over, which I left on the stove, meaning to give it to Scooby Do later.

As our guests were leaving, we heard a meow at the door and opened it to find the new cat in town. We haven’t thought of a name for him yet. Everyone made a fuss over the cat, then we continued to chat for a while, not thinking about the cat at all, until our guests left.

When I went into the kitchen to start cleaning up afterwards, here is what I found.

So much for scraps for Scooby Do. Il gatto had eaten them all up.

(Please excuse the dirty stove, I hadn’t cleaned it yet.)
