Well, my parents are leaving Italy today after a 5 week stay. We actually said goodbye yesterday after we drove them to the train station in Vasto where they took the train up to Pescara and then over to Rome. Of course, I had to call them to make sure they made it on the train alright and told them to call me when they got to Rome.
I know I shouldn’t worry, but they haven’t done much traveling and speak only a tiny bit of Italian, so I was a little concerned. I didn’t want them to get lost or even get too stressed out.
We could have driven them to the airport, but they wanted to go it on their own.
Everything worked out well though and they called me from the airport this morning to say they were all checked in and waiting for the plane.
I’m sad to see them go, but they’ll be back in the Spring.
