Let it snow…

Last year we had no snow at all, so it was a somewhat disappointing winter. Especially since this area has had some major snow storms in the past. So, I kept hoping it would snow and checking the forecast.

As you can imagine, I was excited when on Friday it started to snow in the afternoon. But we only had about an inch and it turned into an icy mess. Then Saturday around noon, it started to snow again and it just didn’t stop. I kept looking outside, and yes, it kept snowing.

So, Saturday night, we took a walk down to the butcher shop to get something for dinner. We really just wanted to take a walk in the snow. But, can you blame us? And of course, I had to take some pictures.

Here’s the first one

And here’s the second. Unfortunately it’s a little blurry since I had a bag hanging on my arm, I was trying to balance an umbrella and take a picture with gloves on all at the same time. Not an easy thing. But, you can see how pretty it is.

It snowed a little bit yesterday, and this morning we woke up to more snow coming down. According to the weather man it’s supposed to be like this today and tomorrow. As long as we don’t get some crazy heat wave it looks like we’ll definitely have a White Christmas this year.

My husband called his aunt in Pratola Peligna yesterday because I told him I saw on the web that they had snow. They were all excited in his town. I will have to show him your photos tonight when he gets home.

Wow you really *did* get snow! We got a dusting in the mountains around the village (photos on my blog), but it was gone the next morning–rare to even last through the day especially as it was raining, though, so you know it was cold!

Supposed to be around 14 degrees here the rest of the week with sun, so it’ll be more back to normal apparently.

Lori, I had to look up Pratola Peligna since I wasn’t sure where it was. It’s up near Aquila, so they may have gotten more snow than we did. After last year’s lack of snow, everyone here is excited about it too, believe me.

Sognatrice, the snow is great! It snowed again last night. The sun is shining now, but I’m hoping it will stay cool and the snow will last for Christmas.

Delina, I thought I heard there was some snow in that area, but I guess it was confined to Vesuvius. I’ll bet it’s beautiful though!
