I’m back…Well, I didn’t really go anywhere

I know, I know, it’s been weeks since I posted here. But, things have been a bit crazy.

We didn’t go anywhere for the holidays, but were busy nonetheless with family and friends visiting us or us visiting them. After all, that’s what the holiday is all about isn’t it?

Of course, the Christmas holiday season doesn’t officially end here until after January 6 – Epiphany. For those who don’t know, on the night before January 6th, the Befana goes around and fills the children’s stockings with candy. Santa doesn’t fill stockings here, the Befana does – and only those of the well-behaved children too.

A lot of businesses were closed between December 25 and January 6, although some go back the day after New Year’s. I was still busy working as I had translation work to do and clients who came throughout the time period.

But, down came the decorations on January 7. The living room looks empty without the tree and the window looks boring without the ornaments.

Of course, the whole time we were putting up and taking down the decorations we were talking about what it will be like next year with a little one at Christmas-time. Things will certainly be different.
