For those of you who have been through pregnancy at least once, you may know what I’m talking about. I thought it would take a little longer and would require that my stomach was a lot bigger, but no, I guess it can start at any time. What am I referring to? The belly pats of course. When people come up to you who you know or only know slightly and, being aware that you’re pregnant, they can’t resist patting your tummy.
Of course, all this goes along with the various warnings and advice. The biggest thing I’m told is that I need to stay inside when it’s cold. When we went for a walk in the snow you would have thought I was outside in shorts and a t-shirt the way some people reacted. They kept telling me to get inside and stay warm. Believe me, I feel the cold quickly, so I was bundled, scarved, mittened, etc.
Fortunately for me, O is very practical about these things. He doesn’t subscribe to all of these ideas and, while he wants me to stay warm and take care of myself, he also knows that it’s not possible for someone to stay inside the house for the entire winter, besides the fact that fresh air is good for you. Thank goodness. It would not be fun to have to argue in order to be able to go outside.
Although, I have to say, he does also pat my belly, but then, he’s allowed.

Here’s a little virtual pat. I wouldn’t do it in RL, but one does things on the internet that one doesn’t on the street.
