Recently I signed up for the Flower Power Mom newsletter after I found the site while searching the web looking for information. I was honored when Angel asked me if I would be willing to do an interview with her to help launch her awareness campaign. You see, Angel is working on something very important. She’s planning the First International Tribute to Midlife Motherhood. She’s swimming against the tide and trying to bring awareness to a continuously growing segment of new mothers. Unfortunately, midlife mothers are often subject to prejudice and poor treatment. Rather than enjoying the respect that society holds for motherhood, as she says, “we are left cradling the crumbs left behind”.
Please read more about this important initiative here. And if you’d like to read her interview with me, it’s located here. Her blog is full of interesting information too, so head on over.

Angel is a wonderfully inspired and motivated woman. I was also honoured to be asked for an interview. You can find mine here http://flowerpowermom.com/wordpress/?p=1161. I’m off to read your interview now!

That was a great interview. I really felt a solidarity with you. My fiance is half Italian, half Maltese and travels to Italy every few years with work. I love that over 40 motherhood has so much more acceptance in Italy.
The positivity is so important and is an important part of my journey as well. I have had a couple of ladies ttc, who appreciate coming to my blog because it is not all about the negative sides of trying to conceive. While I also need to work through the difficult emotions, I truly believe that there is a time and a reason for everything and it is good to go with that!

I think the difficult emotions will always be there, especially since we’re faced with so much negative information. Like you though, I believe there is a time and reason for everything too. Sometimes I wish that O and I had met sooner, but we’ve both said that we were different people then and maybe, if we had met years ago we wouldn’t have gotten together at all. Keep thinking positive!

“Later” moms, as we put it, deserve all the support they can get. It’s the reason I launched http://www.MotherhoodLater.com. We have in-person chapters worldwide, online communities, a free monthly e-magazine, blogs, etc. There is no fee to join or subscribe. Our mission is to inform, empower and connect those who became a mom at 35+, whether for the first time or again.
